Chronicles from Croatia: Mljet national park

August 21, 2012 § Leave a comment

Mljet being famed for its extraordinary  National Park had to be one of our stops…our furthest one down south before having to sail up again! The island is home of two salt lakes that spread across over 4 Km. Just a mere 10 mins drive from the northern port and we were greeted by a guide and a private boat. Which took us around the lake ad to the small island called Islet Melita, which has an exceptional 12 C Benedictine Monastery intact!

The place is stunning and once again I feel like I’m repeating my self but you MUST VISIT IT!!! The sense of calm that one feels while walking on the premises is magical!
