Chronicles from Croatia: Hvar

August 19, 2012 § 5 Comments

Milly’s Favorite Island in Croatia! She first fell in love with it on our way down to Korčula, so when we were heading back up to Split we ended up stopping by for one last time…Obviously none of us objected, after all there is a reason why its one of Croatia’s most renown islands after all…

The best aspect of Hvar is that its appealing for all ages. Kids my age  (24 yrs old)  can party their way through the night till dawn at the many beach clubs…While older crowds can enjoy the beauty of the town…While walking around if we were looking at the walls and ceilings of the buildings we thought we were in Venice…The town is magical, with its pretty port giving on to the  Pjaca (St. Stephen’s Square), that measures up to  4500 square meters one can sip on cocktails while looking over the cathedra.

Surrounded by designer stores, Hvar reminded us a lot of St Tropez, and since its quickly growing in fame I would suggest you run here before it reaches the scorching prices of the Latter ;) Also bare in mind if you are on a boat like our selves, the pretty little beaches off the main island transform themselves into Clubs, so unless you want to dance the night away we suggest you dock your boat near the main port ;)
