Restaurant Review: Katsuya – Glendale CA

March 19, 2012 § Leave a comment

So I am a big sushi fanatic and after all that raclette and Swiss sausage in the mountains I was craving for some good sushi! My wish is Marshall’s command, he’s my adorable boyfriend, and along with Nick his handsome teenager we headed to Katsuya in Glendale for dinner, there are other ones spread out in Los Angeles: in Hollywood, Laguna Beach Brentwood and soon more are to open in Miami and around the US.
The design is as  Philippe Stark as you can get trendy and cool with loads of white. Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi has skillfully blended traditional Japanese flavors to the American palate, it only serves the freshest daily meat, fish and vegetable available on market.some signature dishes include the delicious Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna that I tasted and can vouch for it and spicy albacore with crispy onions, miso-marinated black cod and Kobe Tobanyaki I also tried an amazing Lobster Dynamite which is half lobster sautéed with mushrooms and tossed in chef’s creamy mushroom sauce then baked to perfection, this dish was truly AMAZING!! I highly recommend to try any Katsuya!

The menu

Albacore tuna sushi and yellow tail sashimi

Creamy rock shrimp

Crispy rice with spicy tuna

Lobster dynamite

Black cod in sweet miso sauce

Vegetable tempura
